Animal Control Officer

 

The Municipality of Emerson-Franklin is currently accepting applications for Animal Control Officer.  The Animal Control Officer is responsible for assisting with the enforcement of the Municipality’s Animal Control By-Law in responding to animal-related complaints and helping ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents and animals within the community.

 

Responsibilities Include:

·         Responding to animal control complaints and concerns

·         Capturing and impounding animals running at large

·         Providing Boarding and Care of animals during impoundment period

·         Assisting with enforcement of the Animal Control By-Law

·         Maintaining accurate records and reports

Qualifications:

·         Comfortable handling dogs and other domestic animals

·         Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

·         Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

·         Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License

·         Ability to work flexible and on-call hours, including evenings and weekends when required

·         Previous animal handling or enforcement experience is considered an asset

This is a casual/on-call position with hours varying based on community needs. A monthly retainer shall be paid for contract services.
